Rhythmic Pop artist Taija New returns with her new single, “Never Mrs.,” a cinematic, high-stakes hip-hop track inspired by the suspense, danger, and strategy of spy thrillers like Mr. & Mrs. Smith and 007.
Built around sharp lyricism and bold storytelling, “Never Mrs.” pulls listeners into a cat-and-mouse chase led by a main character who is calculated, confident, and always one step ahead. The song captures the thrill of pursuit while making it clear that once Taija locks onto a target, she will not let go.
The official music video brings that intensity to life through an intense chess match, where Taija New taunts her opponent with confidence and control. In the end, her skill proves supreme as she graciously shakes her opponent’s hand and walks away while he unravels.
The video was shot at Taija New’s alma mater, the University of Massachusetts Amherst, with the UMass Chess Club lending their expertise and acting talent to help bring her vision to life.
