British singer-songwriter and actor Sam Palladio returns with his captivating new single, “Burberry Jacket,” available everywhere now. Inspired by the streets, folklore, and unmistakable mystique of London, the cinematic indie- pop track marks his second release with Nashville-based independent label 3686 Records.
“I wanted the song to feel as hypnotic as its main character, with the pulsing bass and rhythm of the drums providing the backbone to build this sonic world,” shares Palladio. “The Dire Straits-inspired riff in the bridge, played by the amazing Joey McClennan, pushes that feeling even further. and I love it.”
Written by Sam Palladio, Phil Barnes (Taylor Acorn, KNOX, The Lone Bellow), and Kendall Goodman (Danielle Bradbery, Reyna Roberts, Matt Schuster), “Burberry Jacket” unfolds against the backdrop of London’s iconic Fleet Street, weaving in subtle nods to the legend of Sweeney Todd. The track paints a portrait of a femme fatale whose beauty is as mesmerizing as it is destructive. Lyrics like, “Love me to the grave, your beauty could put me in a casket, bury my bones in your Burberry jacket,” capture the intoxicating pull of a love that’s impossible to escape.
Driven by pulsing basslines, hypnotic rhythms, and shimmering guitars, the song pairs sleek indie-pop production with vivid, cinematic storytelling. Although Palladio has called Nashville home for more than a decade, “Burberry Jacket” reconnects him with the country that shaped him, channeling London’s atmosphere, history, and fashion into a track that’s unmistakably British while reflecting the modern sound he’s cultivated in Music City.
Best known for his role as Gunnar Scott on ABC’s Nashville. Palladio became a breakout fan favorite throughout the show’s six-season run. Since then, he has continued to carve out a musical identity that blends indie-pop, Americana, and folk influences. His debut album, created alongside Søren Hansen (New Politics) and multi-GRAMMY-winning producer Dave Sardy (Oasis, Snow Patrol, LCD Soundsystem, The Who), was followed by acclaimed releases including “Something On My Mind” and “Tennessee,” featuring Foo Fighters guitarist Chris Shiflett.
Beyond music, Palladio has appeared in Netflix’s The Princess Switch trilogy, AMC’s Humans, Showtime’s Episodes, ABC’s Rebel, the Bob Marley biopic One Love, and the thriller series The Couple Next Door.
Fresh off performances across the United Kingdom and the NASHVILLE: The Encore Tour, Palladio continues to expand his artistic identity. With “Burberry Jacket,” he leans into cinematic storytelling, dark romance, and his British roots, ushering in an exciting new chapter in his career.
