Raye & Marlowe – “Fill My Life With Love”

Raye & Marlowe return with “Fill My Life With Love,” an uplifting soul duet blending late-’70s Philly soul, sophisticated early-’80s R&B and a driving funk groove. The new single arrives ahead of the forthcoming Raye & Marlowe album, SOUL.

Built around a deep syncopated bass line, crisp drums, rhythmic guitar, shimmering Rhodes, sweeping strings and bright brass accents, “Fill My Life With Love” grows from a warm, understated opening into an anthemic chorus and gospel-soul finale. Male and female vocals trade verses and harmonies before joining with layered background vocals, call-and-response and an increasingly celebratory final vamp.

The song explores love as a transformative force-the person who can “take the gray and paint it gold,” restore possibility and make the world feel alive again. Its musical arrangement mirrors that journey, steadily expanding in energy, texture and emotional lift.

Raye & Marlowe is an independent music project created by songwriter and music-industry professional Craig Coburn, whose career has spanned more than two decades in A&R, promotion and music publishing. A registered BMI songwriter, Coburn draws on his own experiences of love and life to create songs rooted in sophisticated soul, melodic pop, Philly soul, West Coast grooves and boogie.

As the creative force behind Raye & Marlowe, Coburn writes the songs and directs the musical choices that shape each recording -from arrangements and instrumentation to vocal approach, background vocals and final sound. He incorporates contemporary generative music technology into that creative process, shaping and refining each element until the g each element until the finished recording reflects the music he envisioned.

The visual world of Raye & Marlowe is represented by illustrated characters Indigo Raye and Kai Marlowe, reflecting the warmth, chemistry and timeless soul aesthetic of the music.
