Mark Saville Brings a Lifetime of Storytelling to the Spotlight with “My Name Is in Nashville

Songwriter and recording artist Mark Saville is gaining national attention with his original track “My Name Is in Nashville,” recently named a finalist in the Great American Song Contest. The recognition marks a major milestone in a lifelong journey rooted in hard work, lived experience, and an unwavering connection
to music.

Saville began writing songs at just 17 years old, with his first composition, “Lost Love
Stories,” setting the tone for a career built on honest, reflective storytelling. Even earlier, at age 12, he took the stage for the first time alongside his uncle—an experience that sparked a passion he would carry with him through decades of performing.

In addition to writing and performing, Saville is a seasoned producer. He operates his own recording studio, built around a vintage console that reflects both his respect for tradition and commitment to craftsmanship. His technical foundation dates back to the 1980s, when he trained at Vancouver Community College, earning certification in three phases of record production within a professional studio environment.

With renewed momentum and industry recognition, Saville continues to write and record new material—songs that carry forward his distinct voice: grounded, reflective, and unmistakably real.

Balancing life between “swinging the hammer” and playing bars, Saville developed a signature style grounded in real-life experience—songs shaped by long days of labor, late nights of music, and the spaces in between. That authenticity continues to resonate with listeners, as seen
in the growing response to “My Name Is in Nashville.”
