A Good Crossing – The Musical is the new original project by Italian composer, drummer, producer and educator Gianpaolo Gallian.
Originally released as A Good Crossing in 2023, the project has evolved into a complete musical work, now presented in a new twelve-track edition that combines songs, instrumental writing and narrative development.
The story follows four people whose ordinary lives are suddenly interrupted by a dramatic event. Their paths converge at a harbor, where they encounter Gareth, a mysterious figure who invites them to consider a journey beyond the life they know. What follows is a physical crossing that gradually becomes an inner journey – a passage from uncertainty and hesitation toward trust, freedom and a new beginning.
Rather than focusing on a conventional hero’s journey, A Good Crossing explores the idea of crossing a threshold: the moment when a person must decide whether to remain where they are or take a step toward something unknown.
The musical moves through a contemporary urban environment, a harbor, rbor, a sea voyage and a new shore, using these settings as a framework for a story about change, choice and the possibility of starting again.
The album features twelve original numbers, including Maelstrom, Ray Of Light, The Touch Of Divine, A Good Crossing, Better Days Ahead, Place To Be and The Road Goes On.
A complementary Instrumentals edition accompanies the main release, offering the musical material without the vocal narrative.
Gianpaolo Gallian is an Italian musician, drummer, composer, producer and educator active professionally since 2000. He holds Academic Degrees in Jazz Drums and Percussion from the Conservatorio di Musica “F. Venezze” in Rovigo, graduating with honors, and has worked extensively as a session drummer, producer and teacher. His experience includes recording projects, live performances and international touring, as well as original music and educational publications. Since 2025 he has also been working as a composer and producer for YTINIFNI PICTURES in Burbank, California.
