Out now on his new album Side //, DJ Sur+’s “Keep It In Motion” is a smooth, mid-tempo hip-hop track about staying composed and moving forward while the pressure builds. Built on minimal instrumentation and a warm low end, the song passes between a melodic female-led hook and two restrained male verses, landing somewhere between West Coast bounce and late-night R&B.
The hook sets the tone right away: “I keep it in motion, baby don’t you kill my vibe.” Rather than chasing volume, the verses treat confidence as something quiet, with lines like “I don’t brag loud, I don’t need that show.” A tight structure of hook, two verses, and a closing outro keeps the record focused from start to finish, letting the vocal interplay carry the energy.
DJ Sur+ is an independent artist working in West Coast hip-hop, drawing on influences from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony to Tommy Richman. His catalog includes the albums Unleashed and Unleashed (Deluxe Edition), along with his latest release, Side Il, a 13-track album that moves between hard-edged bounce records and melodic, R&B-leaning songs. DJ Sur+ develops the concepts and prompts behind his music and produces it using Al-assisted tools.
