A3 Finds a Softer Side on Atmospheric New Single “Maybe It’s You”

“Maybe It’s You” is a smooth, atmospheric single by seasoned electronic and dance artist A3 and is a welcome return of a different face to the artist. A3’s focus is not on the energy of a packed dance floor, but rather on a more intimate and calming atmosphere.

The song was made in collaboration with renowned producer and multi-instrumentalist Ian Barter, and features a laid-back groove, warm electronic elements and soft melodies. The production of Barter adds an organic, almost analogue feel to the song, allowing A3’s melodic ideas plenty of breathing space.

The spacious arrangement is one of the best things about “Maybe It’s You”. There’s no overloading the sound and each one sounds like it’s floating on their own without any of the other sounds drowning them out, and the hypnotic rhythm slowly moves the song. This is a track that is cinematic, but not over dramatic.

There’s also a romantic element in the song, but it’s kept subtle, thankfully, by A3. Where “Maybe It’s You” takes a different approach, it lets the emotions take their time to be absorbed by the listener. The tune and mood slowly pulls you into it, and the song lingers in your mind after it has finished.

But what’s really cool about this one is the fact that A3 is willing to break away from his comfort zone of the dancefloor. Though he still has the appealing melodies of his past, he is doing so with a more mature and mature-sounding approach.

Sometimes the quietest songs could make the strongest impression, as in “Maybe It’s You.”
